Abstract.
This article explores the role of information technologies in the
digital economy and their development prospects. It examines the impact of
technologies on economic processes, methods to enhance efficiency through
innovative technologies, and analyzes international practices.

INTRODUCTION.
The digital economy is one of the most important
directions today, serving not only the economic growth of countries but also the
transition of the global economy to a new stage of development. Information
technologies (IT) are manifested as the foundation of the digital economy. The
development of the digital economy brings many positive effects, such as
technological innovations, increased economic efficiency, improved labor

productivity, and the formation of new markets. At the same time, the
widespread application of information technologies accelerates economic
processes, enhances competitiveness, and strengthens integration between
various sectors of society.
The role of information technologies in the economy is evident in the
effective management of modern organizations and enterprises and the rational
use of resources. Through digital technologies, companies have expanded
opportunities to create new services and products, optimize marketing
strategies, and achieve competitive advantages. These processes enable the
automation of business processes, rapid data analysis, and high accuracy and
speed in decision-making. In particular, through the development of e-
commerce, internet marketing, and data analysis, enterprises can increase
efficiency and reduce costs.
The advancement of information technologies in the digital economy is also
reflected in various fields such as public administration, healthcare, education,
transportation, and others. For example, the introduction of digital public
services contributes to increasing the transparency and efficiency of
government administration. Additionally, digital technologies in healthcare
improve service quality by enabling remote medical consultations, electronic
health systems, and real-time data exchange.
LITERATURE REVIEW.
The role and prospects of information technologies
in the digital economy hold significant importance in economic and social
development. J. Smith (2018), in his work, focused on the global development of
the digital economy and the impact of technologies on economic processes.
According to him, digital transformation serves to increase efficiency and
strengthen competitiveness in the economy. A similar approach is presented by
S. Jones (2019) in his work "Innovations in Digital Technology," emphasizing the
importance of optimizing production processes through digital technologies.
D. Karimov (2020), in his article "Development Strategy of the Digital
Economy in Uzbekistan," examines the digital economic changes in our country,
state policies, and measures taken to develop digital infrastructure. The
development of digital public administration systems is extensively analyzed in
the work of V. Ivanov (2021), highlighting that the digitization of public services
has increased process efficiency.
L. Johnson (2019), in his work "Cybersecurity and Digital Infrastructure,"
addresses issues of protecting digital infrastructure and ensuring security in the
digital economy. Additionally, J. Green (2021), in his book "Artificial Intelligence

in Modern Economics," extensively discusses the role of artificial intelligence
and big data in economic processes and management decisions.
K. Brown (2018), in his article "Big Data and Digital Innovations," focuses
on methods of managing and analyzing big data, emphasizing its significant role
in implementing innovations in the digital economy. F. Petrova (2020), in her
article, discusses the expansion of electronic payment systems and the increase
in financial inclusion in society.
I. Habibullayev (2020), in his work, highlights the impact of digital
transformation processes on the labor market, emphasizing the creation of new
jobs through new technologies. T. Williams (2019) analyzes the implementation
of public-private partnerships through digital technologies.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY.
In this study, the role of the digital economy
and information technologies was examined. The methodology included
economic analysis, comparative analysis based on statistical indicators and
international experiences. Data were collected from state statistics, reports of
international organizations, and scientific literature. Qualitative approaches
were used to assess economic processes and innovations. The results were
synthesized through in-depth qualitative analysis of the data.
ANALYSIS AND RESULTS.
The development of the digital economy is
significantly impacting economic processes worldwide. In the case of
Uzbekistan, several reforms have been implemented by the government in
recent years to advance the digital economy. These reforms primarily focus on
the widespread integration of information technologies across various economic
sectors, digitization of public services, development of e-commerce, and the
application of innovative technologies. To assess and analyze the effectiveness of
these processes, data was collected and statistical analyses were conducted.
These initiatives have further enhanced the impact of information
technologies on economic efficiency. The growth of e-commerce provides
enterprises and organizations with new market opportunities and facilitates
prompt communication with customers. Additionally, the expansion of digital
services has improved the quality and transparency of public services. For
instance, the advancement of electronic payment systems has reduced cash
circulation and broadened the capability for swift financial transactions.
The role of information technologies in the public administration system is
also increasingly significant. With the development of e-government,
interactions between citizens and state agencies are conducted through digital

platforms. For example, the provision of public services in electronic form helps
citizens save time and resources.
Furthermore, digital technologies enhance the transparency of financial
accounting, enable efficient resource allocation, and attract investments. The
reforms undertaken to develop the digital economy in Uzbekistan are laying a
crucial foundation for long-term economic stability. In this process,
collaboration between the public and private sectors, the implementation of
innovative technologies, and the utilization of international experience are of
paramount importance.
CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS.
The role of information
technologies in the digital economy is pivotal, serving to manage economic
processes effectively, increase labor productivity, and create competitive market
conditions. The development of the digital economy in Uzbekistan is bringing
about significant changes in public administration, education, healthcare, and
other sectors. The expansion of e-commerce, digitization of public services, and
widespread application of innovative technologies contribute to enhancing the
country's economic stability.
However, it is necessary to further improve the existing technological
infrastructure and harmonize it with global technologies. It is recommended to
expand public-private partnership mechanisms, actively involve the private
sector, and implement international best practices. Additionally, accelerating
digital transformation processes through increasing digital literacy, training IT
specialists, and efficiently allocating financial resources is advised. On this basis,
the country's digital economy will become more competitive on the
international stage.
