Optimization of the surgical treatment of varicose disease of the lower extremities

F Sayinaev, Z Kurbaniyazov, P Yuldashev
Our studies show that blood reflux in patients with varicose disease of the lower extremities in the dis-tal great saphenous vein is rare, only 15-16% of cases. In this regard, total stripping of the great saphenous vein, that is, from the groin to the medial malleolus - pathogenesis is not justified. Firstly, the removal of the great saphenous vein trunk should only be within the abnormal blood reflux (85%) - from the sapheno-femoral junction to the upper third tibia. Second, the total stripping of the great saphenous vein is often ac-companied by damage to the lymphatic vessels and skin sensory nerves.
