Annotation.
This thesis is dedicated to the importance of interdisciplinary
integration in developing the 4K skills (critical thinking, creativity,
communication, and collaboration) essential for modern education in future
biology teachers. It explores how an interdisciplinary approach, by linking
biology with other subjects such as chemistry, geography, and physics, enhances
students' analytical, creative, communicative, and collaborative abilities.
Keywords:
4K skills, interdisciplinary integration, future biology teachers,
critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, pedagogical
competence.
This abstract is dedicated to the interdisciplinary integration in improving
4K skills in future biology teachers. 4K skills — critical thinking, creativity,
communication, and collaboration — are the fundamental skills that need to be
developed in students in modern education. Interdisciplinary integration in the
subject of biology plays a significant role in enhancing these skills. By integrating
biology with other subjects, it is possible to develop high-level analytical,
creative, collaborative, and communicative skills in students.
Critical Thinking:
Through interdisciplinary integration in biology,
students consider not only biological but also chemical and geographical facts
when analyzing ecological or biochemical issues. This develops their analytical
thinking abilities.
Creativity:
In biology, students gain the opportunity to develop new,
original ideas through connections between different subjects. For instance,
linking biological processes with chemistry or physics requires a creative
approach to generate new scientific research and inventions.
Communication:
Interdisciplinary integration teaches students to
articulate scientific knowledge clearly and understandably. Biology teachers
should train students to discuss scientific concepts by linking them with other
subjects. This shapes students' communication skills.

Collaboration:
Interdisciplinary integration encourages teachers to
synthesize knowledge from various subjects together with students and to work
collaboratively. This develops skills in organizing cooperation and working
effectively in a team.
The concept of interdisciplinary integration and its pedagogical
significance.
In the modern education system, interdisciplinary integration is a
pedagogical approach aimed at providing students with broader knowledge by
establishing and combining connections between different subjects. This
approach helps students see interdisciplinary connections, apply learned
knowledge in practice, and solve various problems based on a complex
approach.
Through interdisciplinary integration in biology, students are given the
opportunity not only to learn biological processes but also to understand how
these processes are connected with other subjects like chemistry, geography,
and physics. This approach enables students to acquire a broader worldview by
combining knowledge from multiple subjects.
The role of interdisciplinary integration in preparing biology teachers.
In preparing future biology teachers, methods of interdisciplinary integration
develop not only biological knowledge but also skills in connecting with other
subjects. This introduces teachers to various methods and approaches, helping
them to be effective in conducting interactive and integrated lessons for
students.
In the modern education system, methods of interdisciplinary integration
teach future biology teachers not only to understand the specifics of biology
itself but also to apply variable methods in connecting with other subjects.
Teachers, using various methods (interactive lessons, laboratory sessions,
project-based learning), provide students with concrete knowledge.
The impact of interdisciplinary integration on the subject of biology.
Utilizing knowledge from other subjects in biology lessons through
interdisciplinary integration is crucial for the effective teaching of biology. By
applying knowledge from chemistry, geography, or physics in biology lessons,
students better understand ecological, biochemical, and other issues. This, in
turn, fosters complex thinking, practical skills, and a systematic approach in
students.
Modern research puts forward many ideas about the interdisciplinary
integration of 4K skills in the education system. In particular, Shodmonov, S. S.
(2019) discusses the role and importance of 4K skills in the education system.

According to him, 4K skills (critical thinking, creativity, communication, and
collaboration) are crucial in students' reading and learning processes. Qodirov,
A. T. (2018) studies the role and significance of interdisciplinary integration in
the educational process. In his view, interdisciplinary integration plays a vital
role in increasing the effectiveness of the education system. Mustafayev B. M.
(2017) studies the methodology of interdisciplinary integration in education. He
emphasizes the necessity of studying the methodological aspects of
interdisciplinary integration and the importance of this approach in enriching
the educational process.
CONCLUSION
Interdisciplinary integration plays a crucial role in improving 4K skills in
future biology teachers. Interdisciplinary integration is an important tool for
enhancing the pedagogical qualifications of future biology teachers. Through this
approach, teachers help students develop not only an understanding of biology
itself but also connections with other subjects and 4K skills. Applying
interdisciplinary integration in the preparation of future biology teachers helps
to enhance their pedagogical competencies and provide students with a
comprehensive education.
