Development of the system of international standards and legislative framework of foreign countries in the sphere of protecting persons reporting corruption offenses

Abdulaziz Rasulev, Bakhodir Ismailov
Participants in offenses are often not mutually interested in the fact that information about their interaction becomes known to third parties in a significant part of cases, dishonest behavior remains hidden, and others can only observe its adverse consequences. In order to ensure effective protection of whistleblowers, Directive 2019/1937/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 November 2019 on the protection of whistleblowers of violations of Union law came into force on 16 December 2019, with the aim of implementing targeted measures to encourage people to report relevant facts and providing them with effective protection.
