Distance learning: world practice, achievements, risks, prospects

The article is devoted to the analysis of the primary stages and trends in the development of distance learning as one of the resources that ensure the continuity of education; it identifies the main features, ad-vantages and risks of electronic, network, digital education in the near and distant future. In conclusion, the author emphasizes the need for fundamental study and critical assessment of these risks and opportunities, not only in psychological and pedagogical, but also in other contexts.
