forms, establish measures to preserve peace and
security, restore the rights of the Palestinian Arab
people and supporting his struggle for the liberation of
his land.
THE MAIN RESULTS AND FINDINGS
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is one of
the
world's
most
prestigious
international
organizations and the largest international Islamic
organization. The OIC was founded on September 25,
1969 at the first meeting of the leaders of the Islamic
countries in Robot, the capital of Morocco.
OIC is headquartered in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Originally known as the Organization of the Islamic
Conference (OIC), this international organization
received its current name in 2011. English, Arabic and
French are the official working languages of the OIC.
The main goals and tasks of OIC:
-harmonizing ties of friendship and solidarity between
member states;
- solving the problems that have arisen in the Islamic
world;
- respecting the domestic laws of the states;
- protection of human rights;
- to support the economic development of the member
states;
- elimination of some unfair and inappropriate
information about Islam;
- is to organize scientific research with institutes in
various fields.
Today, 57 countries with a population of about 2 billion
are members of the OIC. This large-scale cooperation
plays an important role in achieving the noble goals of
preserving and developing the sacred values of Islam,
strengthening solidarity among Muslim nations,
ensuring sustainable development, and contributing to
the development and well-being of the peoples of the
member countries of the organization. is coming
The UN, Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the
Central African Republic have observer status in the
OIC. Uzbekistan joined this organization as an observer
in October 1995 and as a full member since October 2,
1996.
It should be noted that Uzbekistan joined the new
Charter of OIC on December 14, 2015. The OIC Charter
was ratified by the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of
Uzbekistan in April 2016.
The Uzbek side recognizes the OIC as an influential and
effective forum of the countries of the Islamic world
that recognize our holy religion as a factor of peace and
development. Therefore, we are interested in the
strengthening of this Organization and the consistent
development of our mutual relations.

Official delegations of our country regularly participate
in OIC summits and annual sessions of the Council of
Foreign Ministers of OIC. Especially in recent years,
Uzbekistan's cooperation with the OIC has become
more active and has reached a new level of mutual
relations.
The 43rd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of
the OIC held in Tashkent on October 18-19, 2016 was of
particular importance. In his speech at the opening
ceremony of this session, the President of the Republic
of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev focused on the
priority tasks during his presidency of the Council of
Foreign Ministers of the OIC of Uzbekistan (from
October 2016 to July 2017).
As the head of state noted, the theme “Education and
Enlightenment -
the way to peace and creativity” is set
as the main idea of the agenda of the 43rd session,
which has a deep symbolic meaning. This idea is in line
with the famous hadith, “Seek knowledge from the
cradle to the grave”. From this point of view, the
initiatives put forward by Uzbekistan are directly
related to the development of science and
enlightenment.
The President of Uzbekistan also spoke about the
development
of
science,
spirituality
and
enlightenment in his speech at the First Science and
Technology Summit of the OIC held in Astana
(Kazakhstan) on September 10, 2017. put practical
proposals on the agenda. At the moment, the noble
initiatives announced by the head of the OIC from the
high platforms of the OIC are being widely
implemented.
It is known that on October 7-8, 2019, the 6th annual
seminar of the OIC Independent Standing Commission
on
Human Rights on the topic “The importance of
promoting and protecting youth rights in the path of
building peaceful, democratic societies and sustainable
development” will be held in our capital. took place.
The participants of the international conference
supported the initiative of the President of the
Republic of Uzbekistan to adopt the UN International
Convention on the Rights of Youth, which he put
forward at the 72nd session of the UN General
Assembly.
It is no coincidence that the OIC Independent
Permanent Commission on Human Rights chose the
issue of youth rights for its major international
conference. After all, today young people make up a
large part of the population in most countries,
especially in the OIC member states. Our insensitive
approach to this segment of the population inevitably
threatens stability and peace in our societies.
The participants of the Tashkent conference adopted
the final document - the Tashkent Declaration on the
Rights of youth in the member countries of the
Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The declaration

describes important initiatives to be implemented in
the future at the international level and by OIC member
countries to fully ensure the rights of young people.
Today, cooperation between Uzbekistan and OIC is
steadily developing. Among other things, close
relations established between the National Center of
the Republic of Uzbekistan on Human Rights and the
Independent Standing Commission on Human Rights
of the OIC have a special place.
In this sense, we think that the online forum of the
Association of Information Agencies of the OIC
countries, in which representatives of the UzA
participated, is important. During this virtual
conference, as noted in the discussions led by Majid bin
Abdullah al-Qasabi, Minister of Information of the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Chairman of the Executive
Council of the Association of National News Agencies,
the need for information in the context of the
pandemic is increasing sharply.
In such a complex situation, according to Majid bin
Abdullah, it is not for nothing that strengthening
cooperation between the members of the Association
of Information Agencies of the OIC countries is more
urgent than ever. Therefore, although the number of
mass media is very large, news agencies today are
distinguished by their truthful coverage of the topic.
Indeed, the coronavirus pandemic has once again
shown the important role that factual information
plays in the life of society. According to the words of
the participants of the forum, exposing false
information, preventing the spread of fabrications, and
providing useful and continuous information to people
has become a constant task of national news agencies
in any precarious situation.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, based on the above information, it can
be said that this cooperation plays an important role in
the development of Uzbekistan. It should be noted
that friendly relations between the two countries are
strengthening based on cooperation. Also, there are
several agreements with Uzbekistan on this
cooperation, which are expected to be implemented in
the future and achieve great results. And we believe
that this cooperation will bring great opportunities to
Uzbekistan in the future.
