USING INNOVATIVE METHODS IN TEACHING ENGLISH IN PRIMARY GRADES

Abstract.
The use of innovative methods in teaching English to primary school students
makes the language learning process more effective and interesting. The use of new methods and
technologies, the introduction of interactivity by the teacher into the lesson process and the
active participation of students make the language learning process more effective. Innovative
methods, such as games, multimedia tools, online resources and modern communication
technologies, allow students to pass the lesson more lively and interactively. These methods help
develop students' creativity, critical thinking and communication skills. At the same time, these
methods create the opportunity to ensure an individual approach to teaching, taking into account
the specific needs of each student. The use of innovative teaching methods, especially in primary
school, increases motivation for language learning and increases students' interest in English.

Аннотация.
Использование инновационных методов в обучении английскому языку
учащихся младших классов позволяет сделать процесс овладения языком учащихся
эффективным и интересным. Использование новых методов и технологий, внедрение
преподавателем интерактивности в процесс урока и активное участие учащихся делают
процесс изучения языка более эффективным. Инновационные методы, такие как игры,
мультимедийные инструменты, онлайн-ресурсы и современные коммуникационные
технологии, позволяют учащимся проходить урок более ярко и интерактивно. Эти
методы помогают развивать творческие способности учащихся, критическое мышление
и коммуникативные навыки. В то же время эти методы создают возможность
обеспечить индивидуальный подход к обучению, учесть уникальные потребности
каждого студента.

Introduction
The use of innovative methods to improve the effectiveness of teaching English in
primary grades is becoming an integral part of the modern education system. These methods help
to ensure the active participation of students in the learning process, maintain their interest and
apply the language in practice. Also, the use of innovative technologies and teaching
methodologies, unlike traditional teaching methods, creates more personalized learning
opportunities for students. First of all, innovative methods allow students to learn interactively,
visually and through games. For example, the use of multimedia tools (videos, audio materials,
interactive applications) in teaching English helps to simultaneously develop students' listening,
speaking, reading and writing skills. This makes the process of language acquisition more
effective and interesting for students.
With the help of innovative technologies, for example, online platforms or mobile
applications, students have the opportunity to independently read texts in English, solve tests,
perform grammar exercises and strengthen their skills through games. At the same time, it
creates an opportunity for the teacher to take into account the individual needs of students in the
classroom, to provide education tailored to the pace and style of each student.
Interactive methods, such as group work and role-playing games, are also used in the
teaching process. These methods ensure that students communicate with each other, exchange
ideas and develop teamwork. Role-playing games in learning English, for example, provide
students with the opportunity to use the language in practice by simulating various real-life
situations. This increases students' confidence and increases their enthusiasm for the learning
process.
Another important aspect of innovative methods is that they help develop creativity in
students. Creative approaches to teaching English at school, for example, allow students to write
their own stories, create new concepts, or express their thoughts freely in English.

overall development of students. In addition, as part of innovative approaches to teaching, it is

learning process. Through this, students learn to independently analyze their learning process,
which increases their self-confidence.
Literature analysis and methodology
Analysis of scientific literature on the use of innovative methods in teaching English in
primary grades, identifying existing problems in the teaching process and showing methods for
effectively solving them. Literature analysis includes the following main areas:

confirm the effectiveness of innovative methods in teaching English. For example, using
multimedia technologies and interactive methods, students can learn the language more
effectively.
Various studies show that using online educational platforms and mobile applications,
students independently learn the language and develop their skills. At the same time, positive
results have been achieved in involving students in the language learning process and increasing
their enthusiasm for learning with the help of game-based learning and role-playing games.

teaching English. As a result of research, methods based on the communicative method,
cognitive approach and constructivism are described as the most effective methods in learning
English.

Modern educational technologies play a significant role in teaching English. Virtual
textbooks, online exercises and multimedia materials take the language learning process to a new
level. These technologies not only accelerate the process of students' mastery, but also ensure

consolidate their knowledge.
Teaching English in primary schools is becoming one of the most pressing issues for
teachers and education professionals today. Using innovative methods in teaching English to
students helps to make their language learning process more effective and interesting. Innovative
pedagogical methods and technologies play an important role in making the language learning
process more interactive, attractive and effective.
The importance of using innovative methods
The use of traditional methods in teaching English often ensures the passive participation
of students and reduces their motivation. Therefore, the use of new and innovative methods helps
to increase active participation, interest and enthusiasm in students. Through these methods,
students have the opportunity to use the language in practice and form a positive attitude towards
the language they are learning.
Multimedia and digital technologies
Today, the use of multimedia tools, Internet resources, mobile applications and digital
educational platforms has become an effective method in teaching English. With the help of
videos, audio materials, interactive applications, students learn the language not only by
listening, but also by seeing and doing. For example, games, animations and video lessons in
English help maintain students' interest. Explaining the language to students through real-life
situations makes the learning process more effective.
Game pedagogy
Game methodology provides students with the opportunity to implement the process of
learning English through play. Role-playing games, simulations and game exercises give
students the opportunity to use English words and phrases in practice. Through games, students
enjoy learning the language, which increases their activity in learning. For example, students
learn new words through the Word Bingo game, and practice pronouncing words correctly
through the Simon Says game.
Blended learning
Blended learning is a combination of traditional teaching methods with online learning,
which is used as an effective method for teaching English.

In this method, students work with a teacher in classes, while also doing their own
independent work and online exercises online. For example, students can watch online video
lessons, take interactive tests, or do grammar and vocabulary exercises through mobile
applications. This approach allows students to control their own learning process and creates a
more flexible learning environment for them.
Computer-based learning and mobile applications
In learning English, computer and mobile applications allow students to learn the
language interactively. For example, through applications such as Duolingo, Babbel, and
Memrise, students can learn vocabulary, do grammar exercises, and develop listening skills.
These applications help students manage their learning process independently. Also,
through applications, students are motivated to achieve their goals, because they can track their
progress.
Projects and creative projects
When learning English, assigning students creative projects creates great motivation and
interest for them. For example, students can be given projects that require them to write a short
story in English, create a video blog, or have a conversation in English. This method develops
creative thinking in students and allows them to use the language more freely. Such creative
projects give students the opportunity to express their thoughts and apply the language in real-
life situations.
Advantages of using innovative methods

students and make the learning process enjoyable, which increases their activity in learning.

language.

approaches, students can be created more effective opportunities for learning English. These
methods teach students to apply the language in practice, develop new skills, and become self-
directed. In this way, the use of innovative methods in teaching English not only increases
educational effectiveness, but also greatly contributes to the overall development of students.
Discussion
Analysis of innovative methods in teaching English in primary grades creates broad
opportunities for making the educational process more effective. Through literature analysis,
research and methods, we can see how innovative methods affect language learning. The use of
innovative methods increases students' interest and enthusiasm for language learning, helps to
make their learning activities more active and interactive. These methods also develop students'
creative and communicative skills.
First of all, multimedia technologies and online platforms create opportunities for
students to use language in practice. Studies show that with the help of interactive methods,
students not only learn the language, but also develop the skills to freely express their thoughts,
work in groups and learn independently. Game-based methods, such as role-playing and
simulations, can engage students in language learning and engage them in practice.
Another important aspect is the effectiveness of the blended learning method. In this
method, traditional lessons are combined with online resources and mobile applications, which
allows students to learn at their own pace. This approach helps to personalize the learning
process, responding to the individual needs of students. However, the effectiveness of this
method depends more on the teacher’s skills in using new technologies and the students’ access

In addition, with the help of interactive methods, students not only learn the language, but
also develop teamwork, communication and creative thinking skills. Methods such as group
work and role-playing games allow students to use English in real-life situations. In this way,
students strengthen their language skills by working in different roles and have the opportunity to
exchange ideas with each other.
However, the success of innovative methods depends on many factors. Although students
achieve effective results in language learning with the help of educational technologies and
mobile applications, sometimes the usability of technologies and their effectiveness in promoting
students may not be the same.

Therefore, teachers should choose innovative methods based on the needs of students and
the specific characteristics of the classroom. Also, some students may resist technology or be
passive towards innovative methods, which can make the teaching process difficult.
Results
Observing students' achievements and problems in learning English through experimental
methods is important in assessing the effectiveness of new methods. Studies have shown that
using innovative methods, students can learn faster, learn languages more effectively, and
develop communication skills. However, sometimes completely rejecting traditional methods or
relying only on innovative methods can also cause problems. Therefore, combining innovative
methods with traditional teaching methods and using a blended approach can help achieve
effective results.
The use of innovative methods in teaching English in primary grades can greatly help
make the language learning process more effective and interesting for students. Research and
analysis have shown that innovative methods, including multimedia technologies, game
methods, blended learning, and mobile applications, increase student engagement and enhance
their enthusiasm for language learning. These methods develop students' communicative skills,
they have the opportunity to use the language they are learning in real life, and they strengthen
their communication skills.
Innovative approaches to teaching English, such as interactive methods and game
pedagogy, activate the language learning process for students. These methods help to maintain
students' interest, they actively use the language they are learning, and thereby increase the
effectiveness of language learning. The use of blended learning methods creates flexibility for
students to learn at their own pace and achieve their goals. In this case, combining online
materials and traditional teaching methods further expands the learning process for students.
The effectiveness of innovative methods depends on many factors. These methods do not
rely solely on technological tools, but require a flexible approach to the pedagogical skills of the
teacher and the needs of the students. Therefore, when using new methods, teachers need to
carefully select innovative approaches and apply them in accordance with the needs of the class.
Using experimental methods and questionnaires, the learning process and attitudes of
students towards the methods were observed. As a result of the research, it was found that
students in classes using innovative methods had higher success in language acquisition.

It was also shown that interactive approaches and mobile applications increased the level
of knowledge of students, and their enthusiasm and motivation for language learning increased.
However, when choosing and using methods correctly, it is necessary to take into account
the skills of teachers in mastering new technologies and the different needs of students. The
effectiveness of innovative methods depends on the correct orientation of students and effective
work with them.
Conclusion
The use of innovative methods in teaching English in primary grades is of great
importance for updating and making the educational process more effective. Research and
analysis have shown that innovative methods, such as multimedia technologies, game methods,
blended learning, and mobile applications, make the process of language acquisition more
interesting and effective for students. These methods increase the activity of students, strengthen
their enthusiasm for language learning, and develop their communicative skills.
Innovative methods provide students with the opportunity to use new technologies and
interactive materials, which in turn improves students' language skills and practical application.
At the same time, the successful use of innovative methods is associated with the
pedagogical competence of teachers and their readiness to master new technologies. When
choosing innovative methods, teachers should take into account the needs of the class and the
individual characteristics of students.
In conclusion, the use of innovative methods in primary English helps to make the
language learning process of students more effective, interesting and practical. These methods
increase students' motivation, increase their interest in the language and improve their learning
success. Since innovative methods play an important role in the educational process, their use
not only ensures the level of knowledge of students, but also their personal development.
