Abstract:
This article provides information on the content and form, types and varieties of local
history documents, including the publication of reference publications, their importance and the
fact that reference publications serve not only as a primary source for readers, but also as a
primary source for librarians-bibliographers in carrying out factual inquiries about the region, as
well as the importance and content of reference publications published about the Namangan
region, and the fact that these publications serve as a primary source for carrying out
bibliographic inquiries.

Reference literature is very large. Reference literature serves not only the reader, but also the
librarian-bibliographers as the main source in fulfilling the reader's factual inquiries about the
country. This type of literature was published in large numbers at the end of the 19th century and
the beginning of the 20th century. The genre of reference literature published in later periods is
diverse. They are: various road signs, fossils, maps, encyclopedias, reference books, etc. For
example, T. Roziboyev, M. Hojimirzayev's "Namangan region" spravochnik (1981), Sh.
Inomov's "Popim-sakhovatli yurtim" (1996), "Chortok district" (1995), "Uchkurgan district"
(reference) (1995), M.V. Rahimov's "films from the history of Kosonsoy" (1996, 2010), O'.
Bahromzoda's "History of Chodak" (2000), R. Kadirkhanov's "Chustlik Allomara" (2007), E.
Mirzaaliyev's "Namangan Region Exploration Museum: Yesterday and Today" (2010), T.
Koldoshev, Sh. Koldoshev's "History of the Pop District" (2020) and others.
By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 16, 1994, the 50th
anniversary of the victory over fascism in the war of 1941-1945 was celebrated as a national
holiday in our country. information about Uzbek fighters who died and went missing in
concentration camps was provided. The main source for the preparation of the book was lists
from the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense of Russia in Podolsk, materials, regional
and district departments.

The Memorial Book dedicated to Namangan Region consists of 2 books, which contain
information about more than 27,000 people. The book begins with a historical essay reflecting
the wartime activities of Namangan regional workers in 1941-1945. In the main part of the book,
the surnames, first names and patronymics of the people who died in the war and are missing are
given in alphabetical order according to the current name of the districts of Namangan region. In
addition, the year, month and place of birth of the killed or missing soldier, in which unit he
served, military rank, when and where he died or went missing, and if it is clear, where he was
buried, is indicated. In the 1st book, Zardaryo, Namangan, Namangan city, Norin, Pop,
Torakorgan, continuation of the Namangan region, in the 2nd book there is a general list of
fighters from Torakorgan, Uychi, Uchkurgan, Chust, Yangikorgan districts and from which
district of the Namangan region they were called. At the end of the second book, there is a
general list of soldiers from which it is not known which district of Namangan region they were
called to the army.
The pamphlet "Namangan region scientists" (1996) created by K. Inomova and M. Mahmudova
was published in 1000 copies in "Namangan" publishing house under the editorship of D.
Dadajonova.
In this brochure, information about Namangan scientists is given, in which the role of women
scientists who have conducted scientific research in various fields of science is shown in the
society. Doctor of philological sciences Tursunoy Hamidova, candidate of medical sciences
Karima Inomova, candidate of technical sciences D.G'. Aliyeva, candidate of physics and
mathematics sciences A.N. Otaboyev. The book contains information about 36 scientists from
Namangan
The pamphlet "Ayol borki, olam munavvar" prepared by R. Rajabov was published by the
"Namangan" publishing house in 1999. According to the information of D. Dadajonova Berigan,
the head of the Department of Public Education of the Regional Government at that time,
candidate of historical sciences, 17,696 pedagogues are women in the Namangan region. 1,375
of those working in leadership positions in educational institutions are women, there is no
information about the role of women in education. Also, the brochure contains information about
the life and activities of 17 Ilhor pedagogues by V. Turdiboyeva You are holy, woman!"
(Dedication to devoted and charming women) was published in 1000 copies in Sharq publishing
house in 2009. This book contains information about 249 women who have been living in
Namangan region and have been working selflessly for the country for many years, leading in
every field, leading in every field, at work, and in the family. the information about receiving the
scientific degree of candidate of science is given.
In 2014, the book "Uzbekistan's shrines and shrines": Andijan and Namangan regions was
prepared by B. Ergashev, I. Ostonkulov, N. Abdulahatov and published by Turon Zamin Ziya
publishing house. About 50 shrines are given, and the sources are given in the sequence of each
district. Examples of life, work and work of Maulana Lutfullah Chustiy, Muhammadsharif
Sofizodi, Parda Tursun and others who left many works in Uzbek literature, who are familiar to
you and us, are also given.
Also, in 2022, for the first time, 1 volume of the encyclopedia "Gaznai Namangon" consisting of
3 volumes was published by region. This encyclopedia is called "Faznai Namangan", this term

has a history of five hundred years and was first used in "Baburnoma", which we inherited from
Zahiruddin Muhammad Babur. Komus consists of three books, the articles are traditionally
arranged in alphabetical order, and the topics are more fragmented. The main theme of the first
volume is the human factor and it was called "Golden People". In this, the main characters are
the historical figures and our contemporaries who raised the honor of Namangan with their lives
and activities. In this book, the good deeds of more than 1,600 figures such as storytellers and
epic writers, eminent scientists, academicians, gold star-celebrated heroes, state, public and
religious figures were recorded, but at least 2,500 people were informed about them.
In particular, the letter "A" begins with "Akhsikatiy". The heroes of this section are historical
figures from Aksikent or directly related to Aksikent. Also, in "Akhsika-tiylar" there is a
commentary on Babur and Babur. After all, the fate of Umarshaikh Mirza and Mirza Babur is
closely connected with Ahsikent.
Moreover, many of the figures related to Akhsikati belong to the court of Umarshaikh and Babur.
At the end of the letters related to this point, there are other chapters: "Recipients of the State
Award in the name of Zulfiya Province", "Namangan Province". Leaders", "Generals of
Namangan", "Heroes of the Supreme Title". In the region, there are 5 Heroes of Uzbekistan, 13
Heroes of the Former Soviet Union: they are named in the chapter "Heroes of the Supreme Title"
and their photos are also provided. The Heroes of Socialist Labor are listed in strict alphabetical
order, and there are more than 70 of them. Any researcher and the consumer can find the answer
to almost any question about Namangan in the encyclopedia.
In conclusion, reference literature is the most requested by readers, the publications used by
readers of all walks of life, they are intended for a long period of time, therefore, such
publications require special storage in libraries. They should be kept in large study halls or in the
bibliography department where they can be seen and controlled by the library staff.
