The main tendencies of the politeness strategy in the frame work of directive speech acts in Spanish culture

This article deals with the use of directive speech acts in Spanish communication culture. The study will present the results of how the Spanish speakers form directive speech acts directly related to the theory of politeness. The main aim is to provide evidence to support the assumption that native Spanish speakers tend to use indirect strategies when making requests, while in other cultural settings the use of direct linguistic strategies may prevail
